Creation of negative sentences :
To create negative sentence in past, the word “not” is added next to the auxiliary verb in the sentence.
Examples:
- I was a magician.
I (was not) a magician. - You were a professor.
You (were not) a professor - He was a postmaster.
He (was not) a postmaster. - She was a professional singer.
She (was not) a professional singer. - It was good.
It (was not) good. - This was my school uniform.
This (was not) my school uniform. - That was my bag.
That (was not) bag. - We were in the party.
We (were not) in the party. - They were happy.
They (were not) happy. - These were the old books.
These (were not) the old books. - Those were useful.
Those (were not) useful.
