Primary Auxiliary Verbs

Affirmative & Negative sentences –
“To Be verb” in Past tense

Creation of negative sentences :

To create negative sentence in past, the word “not” is added next to the auxiliary verb in the sentence.

Examples:

  1. I was a magician.
    I (was not) a magician.
  2. You were a professor.
    You (were not) a professor
  3. He was a postmaster.
    He (was not) a postmaster.
  4. She was a professional singer.
    She (was not) a professional singer.
  5. It was good.
    It (was not) good.
  6. This was my school uniform.
    This (was not) my school uniform.
  7. That was my bag.
    That (was not) bag.
  8. We were in the party.
    We (were not) in the party.
  9. They were happy.
    They (were not) happy.
  10. These were the old books.
    These (were not) the old books.
  11. Those were useful.
    Those (were not) useful.

Change the sentences into negative sentences:
