Affirmative and Negative sentences:
To convert the affirmative sentence into negative sentence, “not” is added next to “will” in the sentence. Rest of the sentence remains the same.
Examples:
- I will do my work.
I will not do my work. - You will do your homework.
You will not do your homework. - He will do his duty.
He will not do his duty. - We will do our work.
We will not do our work. - They will do their work.
They will not do their work.

YES/NO type questions based on “to do” verb in Present tense:
The conversion of sentence to Yes/ No type questions:
I do my work.
Do I do my work?
Rule to convert the sentence into Yes/No :
Example 1:
She does her work.
- Tense of the sentence should be checked.
- The mentioned sentence is in Present tense.
- According to the present tense and based on the subject “she”, “does” can be introduced.
- Since question is framed, the pattern should be as (V+S). So “does” the verb, should be introduced in the beginning of the sentence.
- Does she …….,
- Now the verb which is already in the given sentence as “does” should take the base form as “do”.
- So, “Does she do her work?”
Example 2:
They do their job.
- In this sentence, “do” is introduced according to the subject and tense of the sentence. Subject is “they” and the tense is “present”.
- Verb should be introduced in the beginning of the sentence. (V+S)
- The verb in the sentence is already in the base form as “do”, so it remains the same in the question.
- So, “Do they do their job?”
Example sentences using “to do” verb in Present tense:
- I do my work.
(Do) I do my work? - You do your work.
(Do) you do your work? - He does a job.
(Does) he do a job? - She does her project work.
(Does) she do her project work? - This boy does his homework.
(Does) this boy do his homework? - This man does his work.

Yes/No type questions on “to do” verb in Past tense:
Example:
He did his work.
Did he do his work?
- Similar to the negative sentence, “did” should be introduced in the Yes/No type questions.
- According to subject and tense of the sentence, “did” should be introduced in the sentence.
- Since, it is Yes/No type, the verb is introduced in the beginning of the sentence as in the pattern of (Verb+Subject)
- The verb “did” which is already in the sentence should be changed into the base form as “do”.
He did his work.

Did he do his work?

To do verb: Yes / No type questions – future tense :
To create Yes/ No type questions, subject and verb are interchanged.
“I will” is interchanged as “Will I”
(Subject + verb) is changed as (Verb + subject)

Will he do his homework? - We will do our duty.
